Skoda’s advert inspired by nature: “Be more Elroq”
Skoda’s advert introduces its new electric SUV with a campaign that draws parallels with nature.
In the visual codes of car advertising, we are used to seeing messages that emphasize power or cutting-edge technology. But this time, Skoda has taken a different approach to introduce its new electric SUV, the Elroq.
The brand has drawn inspiration from nature and the behavior and characteristics of certain animals to highlight the advantages of the new model. Beyond creating a visually striking and unique impact, the campaign aims to connect with the audience on a more emotional level.
“Be more Elroq” is the title of the Skoda advert, created by FCB London and produced by Outsider. The campaign promotes the brand’s new electric SUV, the Elroq, by establishing parallels between the vehicle’s features and abilities found in nature.
The Skoda advert highlights the vehicle’s strengths by comparing them to animal abilities. For example, the trunk and its large storage capacity are likened to a squirrel’s skill of storing up to 12 nuts in its mouth. The lighting references a raccoon’s ability to see at night, while the fast battery charging is compared to the speed of a hummingbird.
According to Meredith Kelly, Skoda’s Global Marketing Director: “Beyond highlighting the vehicle’s features, FCB London has captured the innovation and curiosity that are the essence of our brand, allowing us to enjoy the world around us even more.”
Meanwhile, Owen Lee, Chief Creative Officer at FCB London, explains: “We wanted to open up the category and do something innovative. That’s where these fascinating metaphors come into play. They not only show what the Elroq can do, but also what Škoda is: a brand with a bold and joyful spirit.”
