M&S Food Christmas advert brings Percy Pig to life

Percy Pig, the popular jelly bean brand, comes to life in M&S Food’s Christmas advert.

Thirty years after creating Percy Pig, the popular jelly bean character comes to life in Mark & Spenser’s Christmas advert. The popular department store company has used it for their food department’s Christmas campaign.

Percy Pig is a reef for M&S and a popular icon in the United Kingdom. He sells 16 million jelly beans, apart from creating collections of juices, cookies, cakes, sauces and meat pies for the protagonist. He is also a social media star, with nearly 60,500 followers on Instagram and 113 million views on TikTok.

The M&S Christmas advert has been created by Gray London, produced by Outsider and post-production by The Moving Picture Company (MPC) responsible for Harry Potter’s special effects. These special effects are responsible for bringing department store figures to life once everyone is home.

In this case, it is the Christmas fairy who comes to life and touches a Percy Pig stuffed animal with her magic wand. The pig leaves his box and begins to walk the aisles of the supermarket where he finds all the products that M&S Food makes available to its customers.

The M&S Food Christmas advert takes advantage of the positivity with which citizens face this Christmas. According to a study carried out by the brand, 40% of families want to celebrate Christmas more than ever and 70% say they will have a great meeting on these dates.
