Burberry – ‘Twas The Knight Before

The Burberry Christmas advert is titled “’Twas The Knight Before.” It was conceived by the brand’s in-house creative team and directed by John Madden, best known for films such as “Shakespeare in Love.”

The piece transports us inside a cozy London townhouse, where a group of friends gathers to celebrate Christmas. Between canapés, laughter, and carols, actress and comedian Jennifer Saunders welcomes a star-studded cast of guests, including Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Ncuti Gatwa, and footballer Son Heung-min, among others.

Each guest brings their own charm and style while showcasing Burberry’s most iconic winter pieces — coats, scarves, trench coats, and accessories featuring the brand’s signature check pattern. The company’s equestrian knight logo appears throughout the advert, reinforcing the connection with elegance, warmth, and generosity.

According to the brand, in a statement: “We wanted to capture the essence of the Christmas spirit and the importance of sharing moments with loved ones, celebrating human connection through Burberry’s unmistakable style.”

Director John Madden added: “The challenge was to convey the cozy bustle of a British Christmas while maintaining the timeless elegance that defines Burberry as a global brand.”
