The song in the John Lewis Christmas advert is titled “Make You Feel My Live” and is a cover version by pianist Brad Kella of the hit song composed by Bob Marley. This song was included in his thirtieth studio album, Time Out of Mind, released on 30 September 1997. In 2008, British singer-songwriter Adele recorded “Make You Feel My Love” for her debut studio album 19 (2008) and it is one of the best-known versions, managing to achieve good positions in music charts in different countries, highlighting number 4 in the United Kingdom.
The song is played in the second part of the John Lewis Christmas advert, titled “Give Knowingly” made by the agency Saatchi & Saatchi. A collection of eight spots that pays tribute to the 100 most popular gifts of the Christmas season. Actress Samantha Morton voices the first of the series’ ads, which promote the Cashmere sweater, one of the most popular gifts purchased at the department store chain.
